By ferry

The ferry to Islay leaves from Kennacraig ferry terminal on the Scottish mainland, which is approximately a three hour scenic drive from Glasgow. From here, the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry takes around two hours to make the crossing to Islay, arriving either at Port Askaig or Port Ellen.

On Islay

From your point of arrival, head to Bridgend at the centre of the island, then follow the A847 to Port Charlotte. Temperance House is located opposite the Port Charlotte Hotel.

Port Charlotte is served by the 450 bus service which connects to the ferry terminals and airport: bustimes.org/services/450-ardbeg-portnahaven
